OUR STORY

A Different Kind of Indian Restaurant.

Times of India is the next chapter from the team behind 1947 Eatery: contemporary Indian food, a serious cocktail programme, thoughtful wine and a dramatic room in the heart of Auckland CBD.

FROM 1947 TO GRAHAM STREET

Built to stand on its own.

1947 Eatery helped prove that Indian food belonged confidently in Auckland’s modern dining conversation. Times of India was created with a different personality: more playful, more contemporary and designed around the whole evening, not just the meal.

The menu moves from street-food favourites to dishes inspired by the royal Mughal kitchens, while the bar brings a distinctly contemporary point of view. Fine wine, polished service and a richly detailed dining room complete the experience.

THE FOOD

Indian cooking with character.

Our food is rooted in familiar Indian flavours, but the experience is contemporary. Expect tandoor cooking, curries, small plates and dishes that move from the streets of India to the Mughal kitchen.

THE BAR

Contemporary cocktails. Fine wine. No afterthoughts.

The bar is part of the restaurant’s identity, not an add-on. Our cocktail programme sits alongside an international wine list and is designed to make Times of India as compelling for a date or a drink as it is for dinner.

INDEPENDENTLY NOTICED

A restaurant made for dates, groups and long evenings.

Independent coverage has highlighted the dramatic fit-out, the food, the cocktails and the restaurant’s ability to feel equally right for dinner for two or a larger gathering.
